Drown is a multi-channel audio installation with objects, seen here installed at the Evans Building, Denver CO as part of 'Void' a group exhibition presented by Friend of a Friend Gallery, February/March 2022.

Probing the use of white noise as an individual means of controlling the personal audio environment, and the potential of this technology to drown out difference, the piece used 20 voices to create a collective blanket of human-made white noise from the vocal sound “Shhhhh...”

5 almost identical yellow plastic buckets are viewed from behind. In each bucket, a wooden handled mop stands upright, in dirty grey water. At the top of each mop handle, a speaker has been mounted. Spreaker wires are coiled around the mop handle.
